Treasure's Trip to Colorado
Here are some pictures of Treasure's first trip to see Dr. Yakes in Colorado. Check back on this page to get updates on Treasure's condition.

FROM TREASURE'S MOTHER:
Treasure is out of surgery and doing fine! We will watch her for the next 24 hours to make sure the swelling is under control. Her tumor will remain swollen for 1-2 weeks. The tumor gets mad that we are trying to get rid of it and acts out by swelling. It's almost like it has a personality!

We got to meet a little girl who traveled all the way from Kuwait for Dr. Yakes to treat a tumor in her cheek the size of a tennis ball! We also got to meet a boy who came from Illinois to see Dr. Yakes. He had several tumors from his knee down to his ankle! Today was his last treatment! He has been coming to see Dr. Yakes for an entire year and after some intense physical therapy he will be able to play sports again! Dr. Yakes is a super Doctor. He travels one week every quarter to foreign countries and treats and trains Doctors how to perform the surgeries and helps set up centers that specialize in Vascular Malformations!

Treasure is scheduled for her second treatment on 8/1/06 however if her swelling goes down within a week, Dr. Yakes would like her to come back in the middle of July for her second treatment!

I have told so many people here about the miracle that has happened in Covina California and of all the generous hearts that brought us here to Colorado. God has truly shown his mercy and grace through Treasure. I am proud that my daughter has been chosen as his vessel to remind us how to give free of heart, to love one another, have faith and trust. I walk with my daughter and hold my head high. Though she has to suffer for such a message to get through we proudly accept this mission. We thank everyone who has prayed for us, donated money, donated time, humbled themselves to ask others to help, who have forwarded emails, supported fundraisers, those who fundraised themselves. We would like to especially thank all of the children who gave selflessly in hopes of helping Treasure and all the schools that allowed fundraisers to take place on their campuses.

It's not over yet! This is just the beginning! We look forward to sharing our journey with all of you!

It is so great to interact with other families fighting for the same end result.
