Yesterday Treasure had a risky procedure performed to remove a portion of her tumor that contained active vessels.

Thanks to the 9 surgeries performed by Dr. Wayne Yakes in Colorado that shut down 80% of the tumor, Dr. Andre Panossian of Children’s Hospital Los Angeles successfully completed this risky surgery to open Treasure’s tongue and cut out the active vessels still supplying the tumor.

Treasure has suffered for 6 years with this painful, life threatening tumor, classified as a Vascular Malformation.  These occur in less than 1% of the population. Thanks to the combined efforts of Dr. Yakes and Dr. Panossian, Treasure will go on to live a normal life. My mother and I cried as we waited for Treasure to come out of recovery.  My family has lost so much in this 6 year battle including our home of 10 years. This has been a humbling experience to say the least.  I thank all of our Friends for your help, prayers, notes and support. You have kept us strong when we felt we couldn’t go on.

To date Friends of Treasure has paid out over $11,000.00 in medical bills this year. Friends of Treasure Non-Profit Organization will continue to help others who have been diagnosed with this classification of tumors.  We invite you to continue to support Friends of Treasure and our efforts to help those inflicted along with their friends and families so that they have a better journey on their way to a cure. Please visit our site www.friendsoftreasure.com for up to date information and to see the next Friend of Treasure that we will be helping. The great thing about this non-profit that I founded in the name of my daughter is that you have a direct connection with us.  We invite you to get involved in helping us spread awareness.

Thank You Friends!
